Thick hot chocolate!
Decided to welcome winter with some delicious hot chocolate.The best part about this hot chocolate is that it's nice and thick but still drinkable!
It is seriously a must try in my opinion.
I was inspired by the hot chocolate in the Angelina's cafe in which was so thick and rich! One of the highlights of my Paris trip was definitely the hot chocolate in the cafe! It's a must try!
Before I jump into the recipe I have 2 BIG announcements~

2.Winter break has begun for me which means that you guys will be getting delicious recipes all the way to Christmas! I will be sharing many simple recipes so we all can celebrate this time with some well deserved treats!
Back to the recipe-
Ingredients- |Serves: 2|
-2 cups whole milk
-6 tablespoons cocoa powder
-4 tablespoons condensed milk(you can add less or more according to your liking)
-1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon/ cinnamon powder
-A pinch of salt
-Thickener-1 tablespoon cornstarch/ heavy cream
-1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate/milk chocolate without using condensed milk
-2-3 tablespoons of water
1)Make the thickener by mixing the cornstarch/heavy cream with the cocoa, cinnamon, water and salt in a medium sized bowl with a whisk and keep mixing until it's a glossy paste.
2)Set the thickener to the side and add your milk in a pot over the heat for about 2 minutes until lightly warm. Then add in the chopped chocolate and keep stirring until completely melted. If you are using dark chocolate then add in the condensed milk if you are using milk chocolate then I don't recommend it as it might be too sweet so keep taste testing while adding in the condensed milk and stir until dissolved.
3)Next add in the chocolate paste you made before and stir until thick and combined.
4)Serve warm with marshmallows or a good swirl of whipped cream and some shaved chocolate!And if you don't have either then take 1/4 cup of milk and use a milk frother or a blender to make some milk foam and top your hot chocolate with that!
Bonus step-If you are entertaining making this hot chocolate is a great idea.For some extra cuteness you can use a small cookie cutter and cut the marshmallow into any shape!You can see that I cut them into little hearts which is perfect for Valentines day!
The secrets of this recipe-
1)The condensed milk is replacing the sugar in the hot chocolate plus giving the hot chocolate a delicious creamy flavour and mouthfeel.
2)This recipe has a double chocolate mixture from the cocoa powder and the chopped chocolate which mean you will have a rich hot chocolate!
3)For the perfect winter drink you need cinnamon and this recipe has just the right amount! Not too much or too little.
