Soap Making

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

On this post I wanted to give you all an idea on a DIY which is fun, easy and will keep you safe. Before I write more on soap I want to share a poem on soap-

FUN AND EASY TO MAKE

LET US ALL CELEBRATE

SOAP AND LETS HOPE THE GERMS STAY AWAY

WITH THIS FUN DIY YOU WONT HAVE TO SAY ANOTHER DAY

THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO WASH YOUR HANDS

THS SOAP WILL GET OFF THE SAND

With soaps you can be as creative as you like. You can swirl colours together, make ombre layered gems or make soap look like food! Be as creative as you want. These are some of the soap ideas I found interesting-

Gem soaps-

Lemon slice soap-

Tye and dye soap-

Fun toy in a soap-

Basic soap recipe-

1 1/2 cups cubed glycerine

Essential oils- 1/4 tsp per half a cup

Soap/food colouring- Depends on the brand.

Instructions-

In a microwave safe bowl add cubed glycerine( cut the glycerine before starting this DIY) and microwave for 1 minute.

Take the bowl out of the microwave carefully and if you want different scents or colours divide them into different bowls.

Add 1/4 tsp of essential oil per half a cup( I used ocean breeze, tangy orange and summer lime). You can also add some honey to this mix to make it really good for your skin.

Add food/soap colouring one drop at a time to reach your desired colour.

Pour this soap mix into your silicon moulds or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can be as creative as you like and mix up colours or layer them up.You can pour some in a mould, then add a small toy and then pour the rest for a fun birthday party return gift!

Wait for at least 30 minutes before removing your soap from the moulds/ baking sheet.

TA-DA your DIY homemade soap is ready. You can wash your hands with this soap and you can gift these to your friends and family.

I hope this post inspired you to be creative at home.
